I thought per new SPPL ruling beginning in '08 that we needed 20 teams of 10.

more info would be nice, such as potential dates, etc. I'm sure the Working Class Heroes would be down.

Wildbunch has two teams, that will play!

before we can even try to set dates we need interest of 8 teams before we will even consider doing it. so i counted 4 i think that said they are in. potential dates could be now to end of season. i think it might be smart to set it day after a big game or before. but other than that this party bus isn't moving till we get 8 teams interested in playing.:character0051: thou i suppose a date could be picked between the teams that are interested.
I will roster up a Team./AKA

So far, we're up to six:
1. Aces
2. Working Class Heroes
3. Wild Bunch #1
4. Wild Bunch #2
5. Konoha
6. Pelican Brigade
Sentinels are shy of the minimum number, but we'll gladly help staff the event so Splat Tag teams, such as the Terminators, have the option to play instead of work.
OK, talk is cheap so here we go guys.
Oct 19.
SPPL Affiliate Tournament.
Entry is $200 per team.
Paint is $50 a case. Field paint only.
Teams that must be Register and Entry paid by Oct. 13.
Must have a minimum of 4 teams! If we hit 8 teams we will get a real SPPL tournament in 2009.

if aces can keep it together we might be able to roster 2 teams. just a hard group to get together in one spot ever.

sentinels: You only need six people to compete - im sure you can find six :)
Darrin, I am assuming that you will use all the SPPL rules that Spec Ops has in place? There are quite a few of them. Or is there going to be variation for Splat tag?

Don't think Wild Bunch will be entering two teams. We are trying to get ten people together for one team. I'll post more info as it comes in. We only need 6? That may be much easier, we'll see.

Which splattag field will be used for the tournament?
I am working on our Team for this Game, and so far looking Good. Now as for the rules, it took 22 pages of ink to get them in my hands and now to put them in our heads, thats going to be the Hard part.
We are going to be comming into this tourny a little uncertain about things but are going to play hard and to Win, but mostly for a learning experiance as we are looking to try more tournaments next year. It should be a Good time none the less. See you there./AKA

I am calling everyone from Woodland Security but we kinda ended our season. If I had more than 3 weeks I could get Them rounded up. Mid November would have been awesome. All my guys have work and need notice to get weekends off. pluss we wanted to attend a new place in Austin ,Mn on the 12th and the Bunkar busters event on the 26th. We normally just play for fun the rest of the season.

sorry, Working Class Heroes will have to bow out, we have a sponsor event that weekend. we were anticipating this next spring not this fall. our mistake. will definitely be interested when it comes around next year. just need dates ahead of time as we are already planning next year's schedule of events.
This tournament will be semi-auto or pump. No full-auto, Ramping or bounce.
There is a very strick Hopper rule!
Full rules can be fund at http://www.playsppl.com/media/2008_updated_rules.pdf
This will be the first time any of us at Splat Tag have run a tournament using the SPPL Rules and I believe the first time any of the teams entering have play in a tournament using the SPPL Rules so this will be a learning experiance for all of us. :camouflage:
This is a woodsball/scenario style tournament. The playing area and the flagbases will not be setup the same as our everyday fields.

Tourney markers ok? Strict hopper rules as in 13-15bps?
Ooops! I just read it in the rules. I guess there goes my tourney gun w/ pinokio hopper.
okay, just checking to see if this setup would be legal or not,
sp8 (stock)
warpfeed w/VL Revolution 9v
guess the main worry on this set up is if the warp would be allowed or not or if the hopper rule runs off the hopper and not the warp since it is being used for a lower profile on this marker.
Warpfeed is no allowed with a Electro Marker.

How about an Angel One set on semi with a 9 volt revolution(black one)

SP1 capped at 13bps w/ pinokio 230?
kyle925

No warpfeed is no allowed.
I saw this sppl clip where he uses a warp feed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-jkFeW1BnI
I thought Warp feeders are not hoppers but basically just a contraption to make a lower hopper profile. The speed is dependent to the speed of hopper. So if you put a 13-15bps hopper, the warp feeder will feed 13-15bps to the marker.
SP1 capped at 13bps w/ pinokio 230?
Section 32
Approved Markers/hopper combinations
Pump and Mechanical Markers may be used with any style of hopper
Definition of Mechanical Marker: A marker without any electronics, electro pneumatics
or electronic assisted trigger, a battery or resp onse trigger.
All markers that are electro pneumatic, or assisted with an electronic trigger or response
trigger are restricted to using gravity feed or agitating style hoppers.
hate telling one of my teamates this but that would be a no go setup... :(
if you really want to use the pinokio hopper bro give me a call tomorrow and i'll help you find a gun/hopper match..

i always thought that the ruleing was you are allowed any gun so long as you have a hopper that advertised feedrate was below 15 bps. thought that was it. D what is your ruleing on this
Semi-auto or pump guns are allowed is they meet the rules and meet the feed system rules.
"Warp Feed" is a force feed sytem and at time time is not allowed with a electro gun. It is allowed with a Pump or Mechanical Marker.
A for the video:
1) I do not know what the rules were in 2007.
2) The gun may be a Automag which would be allowed with wrap Feed.
3) The hopper on it is a $5 shake Hopper. No agitating at all.

all you have to do is get a kingman fasta 9v.... its the smae as a pinokio but its allowed..... the hopper rule is designed to keep speedball players away and to encourage people to use tippmanns as specopspaintball owns the sppl they want people to buy their tippmann products..... its really a clunky and silly rule as they allow double troubles and allow x7's with a crank (Ive gotten one up to 22 bps with the right setup before) but they wont allow a gun that can control its rate of fire via a computer to be fixed at a certain point......
if you look at all the champoinship pictures everyone is using fastas or revys something like that.... and they are all using electros

Yeah, that's an automag in the video.
Sadly, Sentinels helping the event have a similar problem to WCH attending. I'm working around 10 hours on the 19th because it's a big event where I work and I was unaware that the event would be that soon.

So is the cyclone feed not allowed if its a response trigger or electro tippmann?
So is the cyclone feed not allowed if its a response trigger or electro tippmann?
with everything i have read about sppl and talking to some of the refs over on spec ops..
they are legal, because the hopper is attached to the marker. this post touches on your question.

i think the day after this tourny we all should take Darrin out for a drink so he can have a day of relaxation =)
It is allowed because it says it is clearly in the rules!
rtr:) Please READ the rules! Page 20 spells it out.

AWESOME!!!! I'm so exited. Its been fun getting the squad together. Everyone is itching to get one last event in this season. Ish and I haven't had a hard time convincing squad members to come. We might even have two teams.
My recruiting efforts have taken a back burner for me right now. When I told Ma I was intending on playing, she Shotsniper:) me down. I still have some time to work on her and a Team. I'm not counting us out just yet! I have six counting me so far. Time will tell.
Glad to hear your recruiting is going well Krutsie. Two Teams possibly, WoW!:cool:/AKA

Where is the SPPL field located at splatt tag? is in a new field we have never played on before or is it the normal field area we play at? it would be awesome to find out where the field is located to plan a stategy and know the terrain.

The fields will be told to everyone when you arrive. I'm not sure about what time but expect somewhere around 10:00.
