This thread is not for slamming MN Mayhem.

I only want real feedback from players that encounter MN Mayhem at GBG!

Did you encounter players from MN Mayhem and did they play fair?

Did they check them selfs good for hits?

What did they do after you got hit?

MN Mayhem is a sponsored team of Splat Tag, Inc. and plays under the Splat Tag Code of Conduct.

Please only post if you had a encounter good or bad I want to know!

I played along side of few of them at GBG. If they got hit they left for reinsertion or called for a medic if one was around. They played fair and would tell others to that player was hit and to let them out. They checked themself good for hits. In one of the vids Brando did he was checking his guys and calling them out. They played fair and were polite to other players. And apologized for shooting a person that was already out or for shooting a little too much. All round they played good.

I know how the MN mayhem play. where there is one, there are eight. and sometime people get lit up. I was walking down rebels ridge when I saw a mayhem player coming up the trail. I ran back behind a tree quik and got hit on the arm. I called the ref for paint check (he was standing 5 feet from me so I didn't say it loud). As he got 3 feet from me and I took 6 shots right up my body. I raised my hands and left. little did I realize the fellow player was right behind me. I didn't get mad. I feel a little over shooting happens but I think the main focus should be towards a certain local team (not sure if they are sponsored) that always blows their tops and cause fights at almost every game I've been at in the last 4 years at SplatTag.(everyone knows who they are) That stuff is far worse in my oppinion than getting lit up or over shooting. Most of the people who get lit up are eliminated stay right in front or walk right through the action getting lit up. I've been to other events where refs ran in "Players out, Players Out" stop firing!
Myself, I have an addiction of getting lit up. This is paintball. If you dont like getting shot play another sport. or run the other way when shot at. I watch all Mn Mayhems videos and feel they didn't do any over shooting on purpose. Everyone sees a red jersey and says Mayhem did it.
I stand in the corner with Mayhem on this matter !

I followed them around a bit (couldn't help it, the camera loves the action they bring!) and they were always checking themselves for hits, and doing a good job of it too.
I think most people's concerns are with over shooting, which, I think as a TEAM, they do a bit, but can't really help it, since there's like 10 of them, all shooting at 12 BPS which is 120BPS... So you're probably gonna get hit a few more times, that's why people just need to get the F out of there. But as individuals they don't. And I'd never really seen they're side of it until this GBG, and had, of course, heard the accusations and what not. I had probably gotten overshot a time or two myself. But they brought up these points in the game, and I agree with them!
Just my observations...

Took some pictures on the field and was with Mayhem for around an hour. During that time I saw only honorable players playing as a team. If an opponent gets between them and the objective the sky rains paint until a hit is recognized. This could seem like overshooting to the players that gets caught in the situation. Saw it once, but they stopped shooting as soon as the hit player.identified that he was shot. Witnessed Mayhem players being shot, calling themselves out (even calling each other out), and hit player running back to the base for re-insertion. I would play along side or against Mayhem any day.

My reply echoes everyone else.

I hear folks on the field say that they are "overshooting." In my personal encounters with them the biggest thing I have seen is......

Team work. They obviously have tight communication, and a good grasp on what each other is doing and how to respond to it.

I hear a lot of people complaining about them, but they may have never felt a well developed team come at them. That is all I see from them. Kudos to Mayhem. As I mentioned before, everywhere they go they bring a **** storm with them. I love em, but I hate em. lol

As the XO for one side, I heard a lot of hearsay about a lot of different people.

During the game, you have to assume it's true (worst case scenario thinking) and do your best to deal with it for victory. If someone is doing something, oh well. Not much you can do.

After the game? The comments seem to vanish, which tells me that people, once removed from the stresses within the game, have re-thought things through and remained quiet because perhaps the issue they thought they saw didn't happen.

EDIT: Due to something off-site on this, I decided I should actually state an opinion rather than try to play the "neutral guy in the corner" (which, in my defense, I did not see ANY of the gameplay so my intention for being "neutral" was not meant to be taken as anything against Mayhem)

My view is that there was no issue from Mayhem at GBG. While I cannot provide any immediate evidence from that game to my belief, I can rely on past experience. These guys love the game, and as Neil and others have said, the perceived "problem" comes in when you have 10+ guys all shooting 12 BPS in a coordinated teamwork effort. Nobody's cheating, but a lot of people get mad at the "overshooting" perception, no matter how incorrect that perception may be.

I got shot out by Mayhem twice over the course of the day. Both were clean goggle shots, and they stopped shooting as soon as my gun went up. The second time they even let me use their rag to clean my goggles so I could see where I was going on the way out.

It's rare that I get to share a laugh with the shooter that just took me out, but I did during the GBG with Mayhem.

I did even observe them checking each other after combat for hits as I was walking to the re-insertion after my attack wave got wiped out.

Only saw good things on Sunday from Mayhem.

A Rapper Quote(not sure which Rapper): "Will the real person with problems please stand up,,,Please stand up...Please stand up ?" OK. the complaints came into Darrin about Mayhem on Sept 11th but not one person stands up and publically complain.
When I first Met Mn Mayhem it was my first GBG. I was with my wife in a bad situation of the field, pouring rain and we couldn't see a thing. all of a sudden out of no where a red blur lit us up like christmas and moved on. I was pissed. I screemed and yelled and said a few things I shouldn't have. It was the Mayhem V. as I walked back to respawn I thought about my actions. About 15 minutes later my wife and I walked out with a few MN Mayhem guys and I appologized for my out burst on the field. The guys were nice and said we scared the **** out of them and didn't mean to lite us up. I even had a convo with Brando and we discussed the confrontation. appologized and moved on. Brando and I became friends after that day and still are today. I confronted the team personally and didn't back stab and contact others to complain.I went to the source. I was more in the wrong actually for my out burst. My point is......Man up ! ..........Suggests this thread be closed.....

..

sorry for leading you into that hornets nest. But at least you got a couple shots off before Brando jumped over the bunker at you. I didn't even have a chance to pull the trigger once.
