Hey, I am trying to expand my game a little this year and hit up some (or at least one) of the other national events of my CEF unit from D-Day. These are four I am looking at, the drives are pretty killer so I would love to head out with someone else. If you're interested at all, let me know, the one where I have company is the one I will pick. The options are:

20 August 2011 - Wasaga Summer Game (Canada)
Annual Big Game - Alien Aggression
Lead Goon: Wally
Side or Faction: TBD
Drive time: About 18 hours

10 September 2011-Tippmann Challenge Central 2011
Location: Paintball Paradise (Winnipeg, Manitoba)
Website: www.paintballparadise.com
Google Maps lists about an 8hr drive, so around 9 hours with stops

16-17 September 2011 - Aliens in the Rockies (Utah)
Lead Goon: Momma Rog
Website: TBD
Side or Faction: TBD

4-6 November 2011 - Fulda Gap (North Carolina)
Lead Goon: Ferg
Wesbite: http://fuldagap.com/
Side or Faction: British Forces

Road TRIP!!!!!dribble:)

I might be down for the Tippmann Challenge in Winnipeg, my car won't make it though. The others depend on my vacation time vs. mode of travel...

I might be up for Fulda, but I'm hoping to be in school then so probably not. If I did go, I'd probably role with whichever side the Hellions are on.

Let's see how my car works for space this Sunday then we can either use that or maybe rent one for cheap (I Pricelined one for $8/day last year plus taxes and fees, putting 2100 miles on someone else's car on that price felt great).

This one seems most likely to me since it is the closest by ten hours.

Playing in different sides is no problem, if it comes to that, if we can split gas (and maybe a hotel if it's as cold as last year-lows in high 20s:character0080:). Keep me updated.

Okay, I looked up the travel information on this and it's just over an eight hour drive, so provided you have a valid passport, this is a full two hours less than the drive to Oklahoma D-Day. Given that it's a one-day event to boot, we would only have to miss a Friday (for the drive up there), so that's pretty good. At about a 1,000 miles round trip, that's about $100 in gas for my Civic, so that's pretty cheap. :)

Drive time is about 18 hours whether you swing north or south of Lake Michigan (and I think the Northern drive would a be a lot more scenic and unique). The other option is drive the Northern route one way and the Southern route the other (maybe hitting up CPX). Food for thought.

I might enter the Top Paintball Sniper Challenge with my SL lol!

Paintball Explosion near Chicago looks cool just to go play, and me and 1 or 2 others could probably crash with my bro in Wicker Park.

Yeah, I'd hit that up, maybe on the way back from Wasaga? Make a true vacation out of it.

Only bummer is that the challenge is on the 20th as well, and Wasaga is 10.5 hours away from Chi-Town, however, my folks are moving in August and I might be in the Detroit area. No idea when in August they'll be moving yet though.

I gotta study up on the Sniper Challenge and see if going in with the SL is even viable, the field is 80% urban so I might have a good shot except that most the clowns that enter this thing use First Strike rounds. If you wanna do this and hit CPX on Sunday I'm totally down, we got a place to stay.

Still, it's all up in the air with my folks moving, I will be going to help them pack up sometime in August.

So I am clear, you're thinking the Sniper event on the 20th and then CPX the next day?

Roger, or just go back to Paintball Explosion for OP on Sunday. Again, whether I can pull this off depends on a few things like when my folks move and whether or not I can compete with the SL. Most of the vids and pics show dudes using T9.1's with FS rounds and it IS a Tiberius sponsored event so I feel like it's slanted towards their products. However, rolling in there with an SL/Palmers barrel and rocking it would be hilarious.

All things being equal I think I can compete on every level, except for the FS round bit.

I'll need a short scope regardless. One thing I can garauntee is a great time on the town in Chicago with my bro/sis.

Talk to Jude about using his T9 . He'd let you use it.

I would, but two things. One, I'd need enough time/FS rounds to practice with it. Two, it's more about the principal of the thing, showing up with a load-out that I actually do use for sniping and putting all the FS round using guys away. This event will be held at an urban course so I think I could have a shot at it with the SL. I'm taking next week off and I plan to play a lot of ball, I'm gonna spend some time evaluating my new Plamers barrel at range and doing some practice up at Splat.

C4, I just realized that this weekend is the same weekend that I am signed up to run the Mora Half Marathon with my wife and some friends, so I can't make it. I still think you should enter the Sniper contest though if you can swing the entrance fee, it'd be great to see how your skills stack up against other sure shots.sniper:)

Okay, I updated the thread. I ruled out the Aliens in the Rockies event (family wedding that weekend) and I am most likely flying out to the Fulda Gap event (one of the CEF helped me get a wicked good deal on airfare.

So if anyone wants to join C4 and me for the Tippmann Challenge in Canada, we welcome you!!! 8 hour drive goes by quickly and it should be a blast. :fighting0011:

That would be awesome, this should be a great game. Last year's attendance was just over 1,000 and they are expecting around those numbers again this year, so the numbers make for a huge but manageable game. Hope to see you there.

Okay, I'm getting ready to finalize the plans and details for the Paintball Trip to Canada! This is your last shot to join us for this epic trip! So far, it's C4 and me, though I have heard from a few of you who were flirting with the idea of joining us.

It's just three weeks away, so I need commitments no later than Sunday for this, if you want to join us.

Here's the video from the 2009 game at this field (the "news anchor" and some of the segments are super cheesy) but it gives you an idea of the game's coordination and the coverage that Tippmann gives it.

Dude, this just dawned on me today, the Tippmann Challenge in Canada is September 10th, well, uh, the GBG is on the 11th....So we can cut out after the game and get to Splattag at like 2am - 4am or we should re-consider? The other option is to hit the Tippmann Challenge at Hell Survivors in MI on September 24th.

Here is a recruiting video for Russian Forces (the enemy) for Fulda Gap. It does offer some great footage of the various tanks at the event, which features the most real military in-game tanks of any game in the world.

Creativity points abound on this one:

Okay, one last call for the Tippmann Challenge in Central Canada. C4 and I should have room for one more to ride up with us, if all goes according to plan.

It will be an EPIC paintball weekend. We drive up on Friday. Play Saturday in Central Canada's largest scenario game. Drive Saturday night and then play Sunday, September 11th in the GBG as part of the GLC forces!

When's the last time you had an international, double-giant scenario game paintball weekend?

When you look back, will you tell your friends about that time you spent Saturday on the couch playing X-Box, or that weekend where you had an intrepid road trip and back-to-back days of action in the two largest scenario games around?

Join us and then you can regale the masses with tales from the latter...

We got it all planned out Krutsie, no worries.

The Tippmann Challenge in Canada is done by 5 pm and the awards are done by 5:30. We can be on the road by 6:30. Switching drivers (so the other(s) can sleep, we can even take a three break in Grand Forks on the way back for some quality shut eye), we should each have six or seven hours of sleep upon arrival at the GBG). Once arrived at the GBG, adrenaline will take care of the rest!boxing:)
