Hey guys, I have a quick question for ya. last time I used my pm8 it was leaking, and I think the leak is coming from the two little holes in the top of the asa, because air is coming out where the asa connects to the bottom rail of the pm8. Any idea why it is doing this and what I can do to fix it?
Thanks,
Travis

An O-ring somewhere would be my guess. How big of a leak is it? Possibly could be your tank o-ring.

the leak gets bigger the more i screw in the on/off part of the asa. It could be the tank o ring, I was going to try it with my other tank but I haven't got it filled in a while.

my 08 does the same thing... i have to twist it on just right for it not to leak... Its a simple fix im just to lazy to do it...
It sounds like an oring in the asa...

Also could be what Brando said. Leak usually = a bad o-ring somewhere.

Yeah, That's what the dye techs told me, that there was probably a bad oring/ oring that needed to be replaced in the asa, but I dont see any oring in the asa, where is it at? and the asa is the thingy that the tank screws into right? just making sure....

Are the airport and the asa the same thing, or are they something different? and how do I get the hyper 3 reg off this thing, it wont budge, and i dont want to scratch it by using a wrench or something.
Thanks for the help so far,
Travis

On my ego you have to unscrew the asa twisty thingy... ( oh yeah we are getting technical here) all the way out and the oring is on the screw part...
I dunno the specs of a pm8 ill do some research here and get back to ya

have you tried the proto tech thread on pbnation? You said you talked to a tech wanted to know if it was on the phone or on nation

best i could do i guess
AIR LEAKING FROM THE ASA
• Change the #011 O-ring on the top cap of the
Hyper3™ and apply a small amount of lube to the
O-ring.
You must be able to unscrew on/off all the way out and at the end of that should be your #11 o-ring
And when you use "lube" use dye slick lube or eclipse lube NOT oil... I think that will make your gun actually BOOM BOOM in the bad kind of way

The airport is the name of Dye's stock ASA. The Dye Airport.
I'm not familiar with the Hyper 3 reg, but I have a PM6 with a Hyper 2 reg and to take that off you just turn it clockwise with your hand to loosen it.
Here is a vid of taking apart a Hyper 2, Hyper 3 should be pretty similar.

I posted a thread on pbnation, and the only reponse tolde me to replace the aring in the asa. I have tried screwing the on/off valve on the asa all the way out, but it only screws out a little ways and then gets stuch. I also cant seem to get the hyper 3 regulator off, its stuck too haha. Man this is great, I think I am going to have to use the old vicegrip to get it off :D
If you want, bring it over some time Travis and I can help you with it.

Dude, no lie, I keep thinking that exact thing! " I bet if I brought this to frank's we would figure it out" But I just haven't had the time lately. maybe this weekend? I will have to see how my schedule works out.
I got a little further though, I got a vicegrip out and got the hyper 3 off, but I can't dissasemble the hyper 3 due to lack of a 5/16 allen wrench. I also got the "asa twisty thingy" off of the asa, and there is no oring, so I must be missing it, which could be the cause of our problem.... shtoopid orings......
